Pellet Trap

How to Make a Pellet Trap
Making your own Quiet Pellet Trap Target Holder

To make your own pellet trap and target holder, you can make one from a fairly solid cardboard box.

I usually put a steel plate at the back just to make sure that the pellets will not go through (Hardwood could be used but is more likely to bounce back with considerable force if not checked). It is your responsibility to make sure that the trap is always SAFE. The pellet will eventually go through the cloth if not checked regularly.

Anyway you can put the hard stop at the back and then stuff a lot of old rags in the box until it is quite firm. The sides and top could also have protection with steel just in case. The paper targets can be placed on the front with blue tack or similar just to hold it. The cloths will trap pellets and reduce ricochets. The larger the box is, the longer it will last, just remember to keep stuffing it with more rags and service it as required. If you was to use a bulldog clip to hold the target then make sure you and every one who uses it cannot hit the clip and cause a ricochet.

This type of trap is very quiet as you do not get the slap from pellets striking a metal pellet trap.

ALWAYS KEEP THE GUN POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION WHETHER EMPTY OR LOADED.
