SMK QB/XS 78 Front Cap Stainless Steel inner body only with special heavy duty O ring and SS front screw changed to an Allen screw. The front cap is shown but is not included, this is for demonstration purposes.
We now have the older short and the later long type. Just select in the options when you order.
When you fit to your front cap do not tighten the Allen so tight that it would stop the cap from rotating. Use thread locking to prevent it from working loose. The cap must be able to rotate.
If you don't know whether you have a short or long then click More Info below. The earlier one had about a quarter of an inch of plain cylinder before the threads started while the later one with the longer inside had a good half inch of plain cylinder, the last photo shows the later front end with the longer gap before the threaded part, and would have the longer front cap type. The other clue is that the older shorter cap O ring is partly hidden and is therefore harder to change than the later one.
The last photo shows the older type with the short front cap to match the older type with the later long type below.
I think that is why they changed the front so the later one is easier to change the front cap O ring. It pays to change the front O ring when ever they look a bit worn. I do stronger heavy duty O rings for most guns.
